Description
Yamada-kun (Age 36) is a programmer at a major game publisher. He hates his job. Deep into every night, alone in his apartment, he works on his own game: it’s an RPG, and he is the hero, Brave Yamada! Sherosa clothing.
One day, he falls in love at first sight with his new neighbor Maria-chan and in an effort to nurture these feelings, adds Princess Maria into his game!

[How to play]
To clear a floor of a dungeon, use your controller or finger to draw a path to guide the Hero between the entrance and the exit. Use healing items and attack or defense spells with proper timing to keep the Hero alive and fighting! Clear all floors of a dungeon to get treasure! Clear all floors with a path covering every square to get a perfect bonus! Each 5×5 floor is packed with treasures, traps, monsters, items, and surprises!

Keiichi Sugiyama’s unique mix of chiptunes and humming compliments Yamada’s retro-themed world perfectly!
He is joined by Enka BOSSA’s founder and singer, Caorinho Fujiwara, who composed the Japanese theme song: “Gyakkou Zinsei” (Life Against the Tide) and mystery singer Nagasa Bonus, whose smooth voice flows over the chiptunes of the English version’s theme song: ”Retrograde life”.

Yamada isn’t particularly inspired at either but still goes in day after day to his game programming job, toiling away at other people’s projects while spending nights working on his own creation. His game is a puzzle-RPG about a hero coincidentally also named Yamada, who somehow looks just like his creator, diving into dungeons to find the perfect path from start to exit while trying to hit every square along the way for a bonus treasure payout at the end. One day Yamada falls hard for his neighbor Maria and does the logical thing of talking to her adding her to his game, and then things get weird. Unworthy of your love assassins. When in-game Yamada levels up he gets better at real life, and can add new features to his game. Whether that means he can talk to Maria and earn her affection is another thing entirely, but it wouldn’t be an Onion Games adventure if things didn’t go very weird, very quickly.Dandy Dungeon originally came out for mobile before shutting down last December.
On shut-down the game removed the online requirement for anyone who’d downloaded it already, but it was gone for good from the app store if you missed it. The loss of another digital-only title from the world was temporary, thankfully, with the announcement back in May that it’s coming out for Switch. That news was supplemented today with the release of a trailer to mark Dandy Dungeon becoming, complete with a nice 30% discount to entice the curious.
